The origin of Ayurveda dates back to Pre – Vedic Era. The term Ayurveda means ‘science of life’. It deals elaborately with measures of healthy leaving during various phases of life of individual. Besides dealing with principles of maintenance of health, it also developed a wide range of therapeutic measures to combat illness. Thus Ayurveda is considered to be the oldest system of health care dealing with both the preventive and curative aspects of life in the most comprehensive way.

      Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan was established in the year 1992 by Renowned Educationist and Social reformer Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri kshetra Dharmasthala. This international fame institute of Ayurveda is managed by SDM Educational Society ® Ujire. It offers under graduate, post-graduate and Ph. D course in various faculties of Ayurveda.
