Facilities: To give qualitative and value based teaching and training, the institution has below mentioned facilities ; Campus : The Institution is situated in a unique campus which is 5 kms away from Udupi, adjacent to the National Highway 17 towards Mangalore. It has an area of 21 acres comprising College, Library, Digital Library, Audio Visual Library, Pharmacy, Hospital, Boys & girls Hostel, Auditorium, Herb Garden, Dissection Theater, Staff Quarters and Play ground. College: It has spacious building with sufficient number of class rooms as stipulated norms by apex body for Didactic lecture for both PG & UG. Faculty: There are qualified and experienced staff in the 14 departments of U.G. course as per norms of CCIM according to admission in take. Admission intake: Depending on the available facilities the Apex body decides admission intake. Thereby 75 students are admitted in under graduate course and maximum 6 students in each discipline in post graduate course. The students strength in under graduation is 375 and 123 in all 9 post graduation specialities. |

Library: Library is computerized to provide a better utility to the student. It has good number of Reference books, Journals, Magazines, dailies and circulating books.Digital Library: Compulsory computer training is given to Ist prof. B.A.M.S. students and Ist M.D./M.S. (Ayu) scholars so that they will be able to acquire higher learning in the field.
Audio-Visual Library & Seminar Hall: Teaching & Training is imparted by using multimedia. For this exists a seminar hall with 150 seating capacity.
Herb Garden: The Institution has well maintained Herb garden with more than 400 species of medicinal plants including rare species for practical demonstration to students. The area is about 5 acres.
Pharmacy: GMP certified pharmacy manufacture various ayurvedic formulations. It prepares more than 50 varieties of Guggulu compounds, choornas, Asava, Aristas, Lyehas, gutikas, taila ghrita etc., to meet the demand of the hospital and practitioners of ayurveda. The students are trained in preparing various kinds of classical ayurvedic medicine.
Boys & Girls Hostel: The Boys & Girls are provided residential facilities and well equipped Mess and a congenial environment for stay and study as well.
Staff Quarters: The staffs from outside are provided with quarters with all the amenities so that staff can contribute and concentrate on better teaching and training.
Clinical pathology Lab: The students are trained to carry out various varieties of physiological and pathological investigations as per the curriculum.
Dissection Theatre: This provides the needed facilities to learn Anatomy in depth.
Hospital: There is an attached hospital to college with strength of 350 beds. The average bed occupancy 150-200. There are 10 OPDs in different branches of ayurveda which provide consultation to outpatient. The average OPD attendance 400 – 500 per day.
I.P.D. The In-patient department has facilities to fulfill the demands of every Socio-Economic Strata, like General wards, Semi Special-Wards, Special wards, Deluxe & Special Deluxe with A.C. Required amount of paramedical staffs are provided to take care of the patients.
Clinical & Pathology Laboratory: All necessary clinical and pathological investigations are carried out with latest available equipments.
X-Ray & Ultra-sonography, Endoscopy, Laparoscope : For diagnosis and therapeutic evaluation, various invasive and non-invasive diagnostic facilities are made use of. At the same time scholars & students are taught & trained for using them in their practice.
O.T. (Major & Minor): Well equipped O.T. is present for the treatment of surgical diseases. The scholars are training to perform surgeries. Minor Surgical procedures are also carried out in Minor O.T.
Special Clinic:
A.R.C: Ano Rectal Clinic takes care of patients who need treatment for Ano rectal disorders and provides Kshara Sutra Treatment (Medicated Thread) & other para surgical procedures.Male & Female Infertility Clinic: Specific treatments & therapeutic procedures are given to the patient suffering from Infertility.
Asthma Clinic: The patients suffering from asthma are thoroughly investigated and specific treatments and panchakarma procedures are instituted.Physiotherapy: For the purpose of Rehabilitation of the Neuro Muscular Disorders. Physiotherapy unit is equipped with necessary instruments.
Yoga and Nature cure : With a view to Holistic Approach to health, yoga and nature cure clinic has facilities for health promotion by therapeutic yoga and nature cure.
Panchakarma Theatre: The patients suffering from neurological, neuro muscular diseases, chromic ailments like Skin diseases, Asthama, Back ache are provided with panchakarma therapy like Vamana (Emesis), Virechana (Purgation), Nasya (Errhine therapy) Basthi – Niruha (decoction enema) & Anuvasana (oleation enema ).
Eye & ENT Clinic: Various eye diseases are treated with eye exercises, specific therapeutic procedures.
Maternity & Labour Theatre & O.T.: Full fledged maternity section is functioning to treat gynecological & obstetric problems.
Out Reach Activities:
- Camps: Camps are conducted at remote areas with scanty medical facilities along with local N.G.O.s. and in door camps also are organised at periodic intervals on specific deseases.
- Health awareness camps: Every month in association with Folklore Research Unit, a awareness camps “Swasthya Manthana”, is held and resource persons are emoted to speak on various aspects of prevention of disease and maintenance of health on Ayurvedic principles.
- Referral Hospital at Mangalore, Bejai:
A referral medical unit at Bejai, Mangalore is functioning with 30 bed capacity.
- Propagation of Ayurveda in Schools & Colleges
Our faculty members are invited to give talks on Ayurveda in schools & colleges
- National Health care programmes:
The Institution has been recognized as centre for promoting National Health Care like (i) Polio immunization centre
(ii) Family Planning Centre.Research Activities:
- The Scientific and Technological Department, Government of India has recognised our institution as one of the centres for carrying out research in ayurveda.
- Folklore Research Unit : this unit collects the information of many of the folklore medicine practitioners after due identification the formularies are prepared and subjected to clinical trial. The results are documented and published. The manuscripts available with the practitioners are also verified and documented.
Canteen: It provides better quality of balanced diet for the patient which are delicious & hygienic.
Bank: Bank & ATM facility are made available for the benefit of patients, staff and students.
