Shri Rathnavarma Heggade sowing the seeds, he set in motion what today has grown to be a giant organisation in education. Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara Educational Society, the Kshetra has created an educational model that blends modernity with traditional values. From the small beginning make around Dharmasthala, SDM institutions have spread far and wide.

Shri Veerendra Heggade, as the President of the Society, has been the guiding spirit and the driving force behind the institutions. Today, the Society runs institutions that offer everything from primary schooling to the upper reaches of a professional education and even vocational training.
