SDM Technical Institute,(Polytechnic) Ujire,established in 2008, is affiliated to BTE,Bangalore and Recognised by AICTE, New-Delhi. The guiding sprit and the driving force for all the progress and achievements of our institution is the president Dr.D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmashikari of Shre Kshethra Dharmasthala.

The institute focuses on integrating scientific training with value based education, to enable the all round development of the learners.

Industrial activity is on the rise in Dakshina kannada and neighbouring districts. Threre is a growing demand for technical work force in the region, especially in areas like Electronics and Information Technology.

It is projected that more IT Companies may choose Dakshina Kannada as a base for their expansion in the near future.However, most of the polytechnic Colleges are located in the urban area. So SDM Technical education in the region, to create a paradigm shift among the rural community that education is of paramount importance for socio-econmic deveolpment.
