S D M Mangalajyothi integrated school was the 1st integrated school in the continent of Asia. It was started in the year 1981 and serving to the special children for the past 30yrs. to bring the special children to the main stream.
1. It is the first integrated school in India & Asian Continent.
2. More than 300 challenged children are completed their Secondary education and joined to pre-University courses & technical courses.
3. The Institution has a separate speech & Hearing centre to train the hearing impaired children in auditory, speech and language.
4. For the past 30yrs. all the categories of special children are integrated with normal children as it helps them to live with normal persons and to join the main stream.
5. The institution has a separate resource block to give special training to the special children with the help of special educators.
6. We have a separate Physiotherapy Centre with well equipped instruments and a physiotherapist to give physiotherapy to Loco-Motor disability children and autistic children. Occupational therapy, Hydrotherapy and Electrotherapy is provided to the special children.
7. To help the disabled and Economically backward children the management is set up a separate vocational centre to help these children to earn their lively hood by offering various vocational courses like Computer, Tailoring, Book Binding, Painting, Embroidery, Art and Craft, Typewriting, Rexine Bag making, Electronic etc.
